Welcome to Standish community website.

Standish, Gloucestershire (population 285), is not a village in the traditional sense of the word - it is a small scattered parish of less than 100 households spread out along 2 miles of the main B4008 between Stonehouse and Gloucester. It lies 6 miles south-south-west of Gloucester, and one mile north of Stonehouse, partly in the Severn Vale and partly on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment.

It has no shop, no post office, no school and no pub! It is best described as a "dispersed rural community", much of which is occupied by farmland. Yet despite our small size we are proud to live in an area of outstanding natural beauty, rich in history with a beautiful Church and Village Hall, and with stunning views of the Severn Vale and beyond.
